" (like not fill out a Patriot Act form but included copies of both of the second signers IDs.)" What? It's always been my understanding that the NSA completes the US Patriot Act form. I have seen some where the borrowers sign and then get notarized. For those, I'll ask borrowers to complete and sign then I notarize.
===========
I had a 2-part signing last week where I was the 2nd notary. There were some errors. The most blatant was the Note had been signed and dated (signature line just stated "signature"; no date requested). Wondering if that one doc would have to be re-signed, I emailed TC and inquired if they wanted my signer to date Note as well. Their response was that either way was fine. I found that interesting. So many, many times I've read instructions specifically stating that if Note does not call for date, then DON'T (this latter in bold, caps and underlined). Maybe they're not that serious about it??
To OP: Based on this one experience of mine above ... why bother?
