Great advice! Also, we can sometimes take it one step further, if that doesn't happen. If/when they ask us what our fee is, sometimes it's best to respond with a question rather than an answer.
There have been a few rare times in the past when I've quoted a fee and had them come back suggesting a higher number. (Only with title/escrow, though, never a signing service!) That happens very, very rarely, so if we ask if they have an amount in mind or already have a fee disclosed on the CD, rather than giving a response, we have a better shot at not leaving money on the table. |
