Like you, my heart was thumping hard and I was nervous about the whole process. I did have communications still available and of course, the journal, so I made copies for the party. I had never been to a deposition before. Sitting across from 2 attorneys that seemed like they were my enemy was a little intimidating. A court reporter (don't know what they're called) was there also, typing into that little machine. One thing I found out quickly is that you need to answer yes or no questions with yes or no. I kept saying, hmm mmm or uh huh. (ha ha) Anyway, It lasted about 2 hours. The two things I had going for me is that I follow the law and I do things the same, every time. I'm basically a robot but with a little personality.
Thankfully, everything worked out for me and more importantly, the client. I unknowingly participated in a fraudulent scheme. I will say though, when I got the initial phone call that police wanted to see my journal, I did not sleep well. |
