Just be careful to 'vet', i.e. check the reputation of anyone whose advice you're planning to take on YouTube. Anyone there can claim to be an expert and put up a video - and bad advice exists in abundance from a variety of sources.
Here, at least, it's an open forum, and as you can see, many of our members aren't shy about expressing an opinion. So if someone says something that others believe is wrong or ill advised, someone else is likely to offer a different opinion or perspective. None of us are always right and all of us can learn from each other, so even reading here every day can be a great education. I should add, though, that the volume of posts has been tapering off a bit in the past year or so.
Some people complain about this forum being a bit too tough on newbies (and even each other), but I believe it's been much more cordial the past several years than at any point in the past. [Anyone who doubts that should take a trip back through the archives to see what it used to be like... ]
