Were you an Amrock employee and not an independent contractor signing agent? As ICs, there is no guarantee that any client will give any set signings of so much money this month or this year. AT WILL does not come into the picture. ICs can accept work from who they want, and companies can hire who they want. It is not an employer/employer relationship. Neither has to explain to the other anything as to why the relationship is no more. On the other hand, employers tell you when and how to do a job (which SSs and Title do to an extent), but you earn a weekly or bi-weekly paycheck with taxes taken out and matching social security deductions, earned vacations, and other benefits. As an employee, unless a set salary, employees pay an hourly rate with set daily beginning/ending working hours. Depending on what this Partnership Agreement each of you signed is, they weren’t required to call you, IMO. |
