The type of relief available may be different for each disaster area. It appears from the announcement that if you live in one of the counties that has been declared a disaster area, you get to file your taxes late. No need to prove that you individually were affected by the disaster.
This generally agrees with my experience around 10 years ago when Tropical Storm Irene hit Vermont. My county was a disaster area, my address was in Rutland County, so I got to file my taxes late. |
