I have a slightly different perspective. I prefer to go into the branch and see a live person, for a few different reasons. First, I once had an ATM deposit get stuck in the machine. It eventually got straightened out, but it took a while and was a PITA to get it done.
More importantly, I like to get to know the bank staff, and have them get to know me. If I ever have an issue or need to discuss my accounts, it can come in handy. I have multiple accounts and had someone help me set them all up in a way that allows me to avoid any fees. I may be starting over, though, as my bank was just acquired by another, which has different types of accounts. (I'll be going through the process all over again - and possibly getting to know a new group of bankers at a location closer to home - but I think it will be worth it.)
Finally, I like the idea of possibly contributing to someone else keeping their job...
