Actually, Janet, my ix1500 serves as its own wifi. It's connected to my smartphone and I can give it the scan order either by my phone or on the scanner itself. I also have it connected to my computer at home but never use it there since I have my Brother MFC that I use for scanning from home. I have a ScanSnap case that I purchased at same time as scanner. The case's strap just goes over my shoulder or hooks onto my rolling large briefcase to take to signing location. Love it! 
By the way, the ScanSnap customer support agent walked me through the setup for my computer and the portable setup all while on the phone. They are wonderful! |
