Yep, had one a few years ago. Attorney called me. I went to court at the appointed time with my journal. After a short wait outside the courtroom, I was called in, took the stand. They put the actual document on the overhead projector and asked me how long I've been a notary; asked if I recalled the signing of that document; asked if that was my notarial certificate, stamp and signature. I responded I've been a commissioned since January 2006; I recalled there were several people at the signing and that the woman who signed that particular document hand-wrote it out right in front of me and then signed it; yes, that was my notarial certificate, stamp and signature. Added that I had my notary journal with me if they wanted to see the actual entry. Nope. They didn't need it. I was excused and except for payment from the attorney, never heard anything more about it. |
