I had a hybrid signing scheduled for today (Sat., 9/14th) at 10:00am. 2 couples signing the loan. Confirmed with them on Thursday and printed the 38-page package. My fee for a hybrid w/Amrock is $200.
I received an email from borrowers this morning at 7:24 asking if I was notified signing has been postponed. Nope. I proceed to reach out to Amrock for confirmation. Called NSA questions number and left v/m message. Emailed them w/priority. Called another number, disconnected. Called another number and VOILA someone answered. Explain situation and she has to transfer me. She transferred me to same number that I'd left message at. This time, I did not opt for stay in que and get called back; this time, I remained on hold (for 10 minutes) until a live person picked up. YAY! At least someone picked up on a Saturday!
Explained situation. She had to read through notes -- and she said there were many, many notes. It appears borrowers were requesting their wives be put on title. Currently, both wives were title-holder spouses. Because of this change, signing was postponed and docs have to be redrawn.
Called borrowers and laid out what was explained to me. He said they'd requested this change last Thursday and again on Friday. He apologized for the setback and said they'd be requesting I be assigned to the rescheduled signing and was hoping it could be done Monday evening.
Morale of the story: Be prepared for last minute changes and go the extra mile to verify those changes. Some may consider my fees high. However, my vendor partners are willing to pay those fees knowing that their files are handled professionally.
