A preliminary title report is usually produced by a title company as part of a real estate transaction. You would have to inquire with an agency to see if they would deliver one to you outside of a transaction and what cost would be involved. It depends on the locality and the agent as to whether they would be interested in doing a report for you.
Technically, you could get access to the underlying data directly. You would have to deal with one of the database companies, such as DataTrace. I do not know if they market to consumers as they are probably focused on larger volume use (like title agents and mortgage companies). |
