On 1/28/25, Mortgage Connect sent out a strange email stating that in the future they would be including a new document, a signing agent Errors & Omission agreement in all of their packages to be signed by the notary. It states that MC has permission to change typographical errors in documents without asking the notary, and without defining what kind of typographical error they are changing They also state the notary is also required to fix the typographical errors within 6 months or be liable for any losses due to the errors. Clearly, this form is not anything thing I or any notary would be interested in signing.
More interesting, they must have lots of feed back on this new form. Since 1 day later they sent a 2nd short email stating that they are rescinding that email and the crazy new document. They apparently they had some push back from folks like us that we didn't feel we should have to fix THEIR errors. They must have so busy fixing their document issues that they decided to push their mistakes onto us.
There is a large thread on the coffee site with examples of crazy form with lot good outrage. I'm surprised this didn't get discussed here. |
