Why would you not tell them why?
What you may want to consider doing is setting a reasonable fee, then tell them that in order for you to handle the closing, because of the reputation they have for non-payment, you will need the check FedExed with the documents.
About the only remedy for them then, if they accept, is to cancel payment on the check. In most jurisdictions, that constitutes theft of services, and it is a criminal act.
One way or the other, though, I would let them know that they aren't getting >>my<< services because of >>their<< reputation. |
