Did you read the report? Actually READ the report, not just let some media outlet cut out bits of it and explain their take on it to you?
Volume 1 is inconclusive at best. Volume 2 - obstruction of justice - is damning. Mueller laid out the incidents of possible obstruction and provided the evidence. In at least 4 of them, there appears to be evidence of criminal intent.
Mueller clearly and specifically cited the DOJ policy of not indicting a sitting President as the reason he could not offer an opinion on obstruction - it's right there in black and white - READ IT! Barr took it upon himself to decide that because Mueller was not allowed to indict, there was no crime.
This is why the Dems are upset - as should all Americans be. Barr's statements dismissing the report's conclusions fly in the face of what the report actually says. The AG is suposed to represent all of us, but he's defending Trump and came into this mess with a preconceived opinion that POTUS could not commit a crime. |
