Studies have shown that, while wind turbines DO kill hundreds of thousands of birds each year, they are way down the list. Wind turbines kill between 214,000 and 368,000 birds annually. That pales by comparison with collisions with cell and radio towers - about 6.8 million annually. This makes sense because there are a lot more cell and radio towers than there are wind turbines.
The #1 killer of birds? Cats - between 1 and 3 billion annually.

Donald Trump hates windmills because he tried to block construction of a windmill farm that would be visible from one of his golf resorts in Scotland, and he lost in court. Almost everything he said about them in his rant was untrue; even though he claims to know more about them than anyone else, he doesn't understand the technology. He's fixated on "clean coal" (which doesn't exist), but that's an industry that is dead and not coming back to life in this country. |
