This was happening EVERYWHERE not just at Trump properties. His properties are just under a microscope and for as many people his corporations employ, that number is pretty low. I am glad they are cracking down and getting it under control now. If it happened, sure the supervisors maybe knew, did Trump? Probably not, he just cares about the numbers at the end of the day and profit/loss ratios, not the guy picking his grapes or cleaning rooms.
I have worked in the hospitality industry in restaurants where dishwashers didn't have papers, and unfortunately, when it became mandatory and inspected, and huge fines placed on the employer, they had to be let go. I don't really see what purpose the expensive would be to find these illegals and run them through a maze just to work for a low-end job at a high-end place. To save on benefits? Hire them part-time, no benefits. Most, if not all workers in the farming industry are subcontractors of others, such as the landscapers are. I am guessing the people in the vineyards are a part of another company called in and subcontracted out. Here in FL for the orange groves, tomato fields, etc (for example), are all a part of a larger team and come in the AM in trucks and all leave together. The owners of these feilds hire a company, and that company hires it's workers. Similar to what we do as subcontractors.
Did Trump know? Maybe, but maybe not. Not on his radar on if the guy in his landscaping team, feild worker or maid cleaning a room was documented. He has people for that, and they need to be held responsible. jmo
