When an Independent has a good idea and the power to back it with like members, it could be considered. Until then, it's never going to happen. Even Bernie turned Democrat because he knew he didn't have a chance as an Independent (Socialist) to win an election. "Sanders insists that he is not a “socialist” but a “Democratic Socialist,” as if the difference is self-explanatory. When pressed further about his Democratic Socialism, he resorts to filibustering about the Scandinavian-like paradise of free medicine and education, guaranteed jobs, livable wages, and other free things he intends to introduce when elected." "Sanders is officially an independent in the Senate, though he has been accepted as a member of the Senate Democratic leadership"...so apparently the Independents lean left when it's in their behalf to do so. Sounds sort of familiar, right Mike?
