The whole point - and the ONLY point - about what happened on 1/6/21 is that there was an attempt to overthrow the legal authority of the Constitution. That has not happened in this country since the Whiskey Rebellion of 1794. And in that case, President George Washington - unlike his poor excuse for a successor - immediately ordered troops to put down the rebellion and preserve order.
In this case, the election was over, the states had certified the results, Trump lost, and 1/6 was SUPPOSED to be just a ceremonial acknowledgment of that fact, just as it has been for over 200 years.
What happened instead is what amounts to an attempted coup - a coordinated effort to negate the will of the voters, throw out the votes of millions of Americans, and keep Trump in power. Thanks to the courage of the CPD, that attempt failed.
If you cannot see that for what it was, you're part of the problem. All the other stuff you're bringing up is just noise. |
