But, let's get real.
The unclear definition of an assault weapon used by gun opponents would cover 85% of current guns in the US.
40% of households have a gun in the home. In 16 states the % is over 50%.
To change, or void the 2nd amendment ultimately gets down to being approved by voters in 3/4 of the states. That's 38 states. With 34 states with over 50% of households having guns, a constitutional amendment is a non starter.
Just as fully automated machine guns are restricted, some restriction don't conflict with the 2nd amendment. Background checks, red flag laws, no for conflicted felons, etc. could help.
Personal opinion Violent computer games weaken the idea that killing is not fun.
