Just because a state has strong gun laws doesn't mean that guns can't find their way in. When the surrounding states have weaker laws, it's a simple matter for anyone in CA to cross the border, buy a gun legally elsewhere, and bring it back with them. No one is checking at the border.
The same argument is made about Chicago - it has strong gun laws, but there's still gun violence, so strong gun laws don't work. That's nonsense. Strong gun laws on a national level WOULD work - we see it work in other countries where they don't have a patchwork of regional laws. It could work here as well. |
