She, and many others, are consistently re-elected because so many people refuse to see reality and instead hold such things like identity politics and/or blind political party allegiance voting in higher regard than they do their own opinions and voice. That is what our elections are for, to elect people to represent "me" (the voter); not to represent a political party or so that we can say that some member of this group or that group has been elected.

It seems that what the vast majority of voters (both sides of this 2 party system) never tire of is the endless dividing, sub-dividing, and even more sub-dividing of "us" into smaller and smaller groups that the politicians use to keep the citizens fighting each other so that they can stay in power.

A great example is the LGBT community. Today, there are those who "get offended" if you don't use whatever the latest never ending label, which might as well be called LGBT...alphabet soup.
"LGBT" covers everyone! The alphabet soup version only serves to divide and endlessly sub-divide (and even create imaginary groups just so they can be sub-divided).

On the right, you have the RINO's, Republicans, "Trumpers", the "not" Trumpers, the various 'Christian this' and 'Christian that' groups, etc.
