It's all about the labeling, which can be confusing. I'd take issue with something in the article:
While it's true that anything labeled hemp seed oil will not contain CBD, it's not true that all products labeled as hemp oil contain CBD. Hemp seed oil is extracted from the seeds, which contain no CBD. Hemp oil can come from either only the seeds or from the entire plant.
As I said above, Amazon sells hemp oil and hemp seed oil products but bans anything that contains CBD. The way the vendors on Amazon get around it is to label it as hemp oil but include the phrase "full-spectrum hemp oil" on their ingredient list. "Full-spectrum" indicates that all of the plant is used, which means it includes CBD. Amazon bans CBD products because, although it's legal under federal law, there are still some states in which it's illegal.
What it all means is that we have to look to the ingredient list to see what it is we're actually getting. |
