They sell Gopher peanuts you place inside the holes, probably the same thing to poison them. I used to have a fenced in yard, and my dogs don't dig, but can't say they worked well. You can try putting child's wind mills and things that vibrate on their mounds. They do not like the vibrations and will eventually leave and go to the neighbors. It's very sad when people use this bait when they have no control of the results...I think gophers and moles are the hardest thing to eradicate. Large snakes do the trick as well if you don't fear them. Black racers and rat snakes took care of them in short order.
