I have the same problem - by the time I realize I should have taken a sleep aid, it's too late to take one.
I refuse to take prescription sleep aids, because they're all addictive. Like you, I was able to find one that is plant-based called Luna (also .3 mg melatonin) that is non-addictive and vegan (not that I'm a vegan, but that seems to be a big deal with homeopathic solutions). It's also got things like chamomile and valerian root which are supposed to promote sleep. IF I take it 30 minutes to an hour before I go to bed, it works pretty well. But my internal clock wakes me up at about 6 or 7 AM no matter what time I go to bed, so I rarely get 8 hours of sleep unless I go to bed by 10 or 11 PM - and unless I'm really tired, I'm usually still watching TV at that hour. |
