One word answers your question... "Fear"

A lot of it is fact-based but, thanks to news media and social media, a LOT of it is fear-based; and to be totally honest, after listening to various news stations, news conferences, experts, reading articles, hearing announcements and updates, and after, yes, reading Facebook (posts by both laypeople and professional health care providers in the front lines of Covid treatment) I've come to the conclusion that there's not one person, outfit, lab,facility, so-called expert or anything out that who really, truly knows what's going on with this thing. I truly believe nobody knows - if anyone did, we'd have consistent information, and we don't.
