I did some looking online and there certainly is a lot of rural beauty, great fishing, and the public diamond mine...only one in the country. Interesting stuff and I can see how it's a straight shot down from IL to visit and relocate.
I recall visiting a sister manufacturing/engineering facility in a little town in Southern IL and one of the engineers was about to retire to AR. What are you going to do there, I asked. "Retire and make birdhouses". Now I get it.
Shouldn't surprise you that the eng dept took the once younger CA boy to dinner at the Possum Trot restaurant in Danville, Indiana just across the border. Great steak and wine! Loved that bunch of people. |
