| I grew up in northern WI. We didn't celebrate Flag day, but did say the Pledge of Allegiance every day in school and show respect to the flag every day, July 4th, Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and knew Betsy Ross made it. I never heard of Juneteeth until about 3 years ago down here on TV and only knew of the Emancipation Proclamation freeing the slaves. Maybe different areas again, different teachings. I am glad about the global age of technology, we are coming together and learning new things. |
