I hear you on the hummer feeder upkeep !
Hummers are great ! I had a fly-by buzzing once, where two hummers buzzed past my head (attracted by my pink sunhat I think) – simultaneously flying on either side of my head at close range. It felt like being caught in a hummer tunnel. It was amazing.
We’ve landscaped parts of the yard to keep our resident hummers feed, which include Anna’s and in summer, Allen and Rufous. We’re on the Northern California Coast.
It was cool to get more info on the Anna’s – named after a 19th century Italian noblewoman. How cool is that! Thanks !
