As others have said - why did he call a notary? He could have just sent the docs directly to the signer but possibly he wanted to make sure they were signed correctly so he called someone he could rely on. That said, for all that he did NOT want notarized - which was all of them - and his being emphatic it was "witness only", I would not have acted as a notary in this and would not have provided ANY notary-related certificates; this would have been done under my "signing agent" or "company rep" hat (with specific letter of authorization from him) - my signature as a witness would have to be sufficient...saw the signer sign, I signed, done. The words "notary" would never appear in this packet of docs.
