I agree with Linda's post. Even though we're in different states, I've had similar experiences here in Alabama. Be prepared for the unexpected. You may want to get the sister to agree to pay you for your travel should something come up and the inmate isn't able to sign the papers. Trust me...lots of things can come up.
If you have patience, you just might end up being the go-to-notary for inmates.
PS: The last one I did, I was on one side of the plexiglass and the inmate was on the other side. I had to insist that the inmate sign my journal. The guard didn't like it one bit but I was firm. Be real clear with the guards what's required. |
