In my opinion, knowing the cost to you is the very base calculation, not the fine-tuning it looks like is being done here. My take: How much is my time and experience worth? If a plumber charges $50 to travel to your door, and then adds a fee per hour and supplies, why shouldn't the services of an NSA have a minimum fee for travel regardless of the cost to run the car? If the plumber is being paid for his time and experience at an hourly (sometimes broken to 15-minute increments), why shouldn't the talent an NSA provides be valued similarly? And finally, the time spent to prep, to travel to attend the signing, travel to a drop off point, invoicing and all the other back office activities should be factored in.
Not to mention the plumber gets paid walking out the door. NSAs are giving credit on the hope payment will be made in 30 days. That credit should have a cost factor too.
I have a base fee which doesn't calculate what it costs me, but what I value my expertise and time at for the convenience I'm providing the hiring party. |
