IMO, it all boils down to self-worth. If you don't know what your time and energy is worth, why should anyone else care? I just posted a link to an article about self-employment that takes into consideration costs of self-employment beyond the usual posted here. These are listed as what you're responsible for that an employer had previously covered.
And although they speak of hourly wages, we should all have a minimum amount in mind that would cover our non-billable hours. If you are willing to be paid less then you've REALLY lost money because you can only physically do so many closings a day, even if they are offered.
The common comment is, if I don't take whatever they offer, I won't have anything come in. My philosophy is I'll only charge what I'm worth, and yet I always have something coming in. It's all about self-worth. |
