Here we go again. The TC and the rest of them view us as the bottom of the barrel because we view ourselves as unprofessional and the lowest part of the food chain. As a signing professional as well as in every other aspect of our lives, we teach others how to treat us. The SS and TC can look at you any way they want until you teach them you command their respect or, on the other hand, that you are, "only the notary". You choose how you want to be treated and they will accommodate you. The whole point of this message is that we as the notary closer are an important part of the process. We can't feel sorry for the terrible fees we are offered if we accept them and make these low life companies take advantage of us. When you state that your "fees are negotiable", you hang out the sign that you are someone who is unsure of themselves and not capable of doing perfect quality work. Forget about the fact that you may be new to the system. You are doing the same work as the old timer and don't need to advertise the fact that you are new to the industry as long as you have done your homework and learned as much as you can either here on this forum as well as by spending some money to buy some very good books so as to learn every aspect of what is required of the job. Just one more thing. Don't walk into the borrowers house looking like you just came from the beach. Sometimes clothes do make the man or woman. |
