I confess that I sometimes forget to do this myself, but I've found that it's a good idea to ask them to send an email or text confirming the scope of work and agreed upon fees in advance of going to the appointment. This is especially important for any situation that seems to fall outside of the norm. Getting things in writing can help clarify lots of issues and sometimes prevent problems later.
Obviously, the rest of us don't have the benefit of Kathy's recommendation, but I'll just say that I wouldn't feel comfortable sending anything with my stamp on it that wasn't attached to a signed document. I'm sure others will have plenty to say about this issue. |
