Susan, others have given you some excellent advice! Mortgage applications are down severely across the nation by the major lenders. Check out some of the financial articles, like on MarketWatch, etc. to verify that. Now is not a good time to jump in unless money is not an issue for you. Any investment in training now will probably take a long time to recoup.
If you have your heart set on it, start by looking at your own personal mortgage documents, if you have them, or perhaps a friend or family member who has a home/mortgage will let you study from those. You can then search this forum for questions/answers pertaining to the different doc names to get a better understanding of issues others may have encountered with them.
There is nothing super magical about being a Signing Agent aside from having a good dose of common sense, respect for the borrowers, etc. Know the various docs and their purpose, KNOW YOUR STATE NOTARY LAWS, heed the advice of others who have been in the trenches as NSAs for a long time, and develop a thick skin, LOL. |
