There's nothing worse than a know it all notary public rambling inconsequential descriptions of legal documents for an hour to signers who will forget every description 5 minutes after the notary leaves. Didn't know there was a prepayment penalty, is that still an excuse? I never had a signer reject a loan with a prepayment penalty whether it was disclosed or not. Those features were attached to desperation loans to hard to finance borrowers in the 2000's. So now I'm in and out in 20 minutes, mistake-free. Questions? Call the Loan officer cause I work for the Title Company. I'm all for someone mentoring a notary public on the what and why of real estate documents but the notary needs to know when to draw the line between being a Notary and a Notario. |
