I know this has been discussed many times, but it still irritates me, especially now that it's harder to get a decent fee. Had a signing today for a CA co. & CA property. It was a split signing with 2 parties signing here & 2 to sign in CA later. I tried to negotiate a decent fee & got $xxx. I also got the song & dance about CA notaries taking $75, etc. The notary fee listed on the CD was $450. I'm aware that there will be a 2nd notary fee on this one, but it really irks me that they get away with charging the borrowers that amt. but won't pay us accordingly. ;-( In this case, the same person from the Escrow co. operates the ss.
