1) I only printed one set of docs. Nearly a third of the package was cover pages with barcodes that don't require explanations. Borrowers get electronic copies.
2) My laptop and phone are Bluetooth paired with PdaNet+ so I can use my phone's generous data plan. The amount of data I used was insignificant. The data cost to me is the same whether I use it or not.
3) Laptop fits right in my bag and it's not a big deal for me to carry it.
4) Time at the table is the tricky part. When you log in to Pavaso to do the closing, you sign in, digitally sign and initial to start the signing, but if the borrowers have tasks they have not completed, usually reviewing documents, they have to complete those tasks on your machine first and then digitally sign and initial before the closing can be completed. My borrowers didn't review their documents before the signing, so I had to wait for both of them to review their docs before getting wet signatures.
I've never done a signing for DCU before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I typically ask who the lender is when title calls for scheduling and charge accordingly, e.g. Carrington, PennyMac loans. Next time, I plan on reminding the borrowers to complete their tasks ahead of the signing when I call to confirm and I'll probably charge more.
