... I wanted to start a new string re remote signing identity hidden from notary.... I'm sorry wasn't clear... this was a proposal in a mortgage loan article (think it was housing wire) saying that a third party vendor (?) would be verifying the identity of the remote Signers and providing that verification to the Notary at the other side of the webcam in order to proceed - the signers ID's would be seen on the webcam. Now after spending a few minutes looking for that bloody article I cannot find it! However, I do see others in which they (mtg & title) want to use a 3rd party verification source for the ID's that the signers are supposedly showing online to verify authenticity.
As to purchasing any equipment or software in anticipation of this brave new world, I'm not putting out any money till I see a front runner.... and I'm in california, which still refuses to answer ANY questions re remote signings even though Padilla signed the 50 state agreement! |
