Sometimes borrowers will be in their "happy hour" when I show up, but it doesn't bother me so much since we are surrounded by the fruits of the wine country. Often I am offered a glass of wine, which I graciously and ever so politely turn away. I still have to get home, and often in the darkness.
One couple, years ago, one couple was plowed when I showed. Thankfully the loan officer was present too, and I was happy that he wanted to get this refi transaction signed and out the door quickly.
Lack of control, I guess, Diane. I would certainly want to be 100% present for my loan signing. What would veterans do? Exactly what you did. Proceed and see what happens. Glad he didn't pass out on you. He must have a high tolerance for the stuff.
