| If notaries stop accepting jobs for low fees, the signing service will have no choice but to raise the amount they pay the notary. Signing services would have to go to title and tell title they cannot find a notary that will work that cheap and ask for a higher fee. The borrower ends up paying the fee in the end many times anyway, so there is no reason to accept low fees. The way she justifies keeping over 50% of the fee is that if notaries are that dumb to take the job, she'll take the profit. Notaries are independent contractors. Notaries determine what they charge and cannot blame a signing service if they are foolish enough to accept those low fees. |
