Re: Disturbing Trend

I'm not surprised, and we'll see if this disturbing trend continues to spread to the other notary signing service companies, and title or escrow companies. The trend toward low ball fees has been in force for quite awhile now. Note: Notary fees will most certainly not ever go up again. I've been an NSA for over ten years. I've never regarded notary work as a full time career. For those that treat it as such it can be a rude wake up call--also factor in that there are no benefits, e.g. medical or retirement. The small signing fees we receive is all we get and nothing more.
I understand your complaint to Notary ASAP. They certainly will be anticipating other replies like yours or already have them. It won't matter. Despite the low-ball fees--despite less signings available these days--newbies continue to flow into this signing game. They'll work for crumbs because they don't know any different. Low-ball crumbs is what they'll get, just like the rest of us.
The way it's supposed to go when you work for a company is that you will be rewarded with increased salary and benefits from time to time if you've been a valuable employee. Uniquely, it's the reverse for NSA's. If you've worked as a signing agent for a long time, your "salary" or take home pay will become less and less. Unfair? It's just the way it is.
