My question with the above is how in the world is anyone able to find a person that knows the witness and the notary public? That requirement totally blows my mind. Especially in a city in California. Chances of that happening in a city as small as La Crescent are slim enough.
Why can't identification enough suffice for evidence that they are the witness that signed? I always have the witness sign in my journal and print their name and address in the "additional information" section of the journal and print "as witness for the signature of _____". That way if there is any question as to the identity of the witness if it would ever go to court that bases are covered. (I realize that in this case, there was no notary present at the time that the person in coma signed PoA) |
