Re: Yoli is correct, of course, but 2 things to be aware of.

Q: "My question with the above is how in the world is anyone able to find a person that knows the witness and the notary public?"

A: Possibly for a workplace situation. i.e. Notary has been working at ABC Realty for 10 years; president of ABC has to leave town on urgent business but needs to leave a notarized eviction notice for one of their clients; notary is out on sick day; president's secretary prepares eviction notice, witnesses boss sign notice; next day, president's partner and secretary (with proper IDs) approach notary with eviction notice for notarization.

Msg #600491 "(I realize that in this case, there was no notary present at the time that the person in coma signed PoA)"

How do we know document signed by comatose patient was a POA? OP mentions "a document" only. Just curious as I may have missed something/somewhere. Doc could've been letter giving his neighbor discretionary authorization to care for patient's beloved pooch during his hospitalization. Wink
