It's very common we extend 30 days credit to SS's, in fact, if not disclosed upfront that is usually the case, then the mailing time on top of that.
So...if you were lowballed, why did you accept? They don't know if it's raining, your traffic, up to you to decline or ask a higher fee. 40 years in the biz and you never knew that the NSA gets paid last...30-45+ days out? Better to work direct, but this is pretty common in our business. They are not late until 31 days and then mailing time. They have a solid rating for the past 4 years, I'd be careful throwing good companies under the bus for not understanding the procedures we go though, especially since you seem new to this. You never submit your invoice other than to the hiring party. You are wrong, they would not send you a check, they have nothing to do with you but the company to pay.
