As I'm reading this report, it only addresses allowing this process to be undertaken by CA notaries. It should also be brought to their attention that companies in other states are already actively advertising remote notarization services to California residents. And as we know (because one of our members was willing to test it and report back), they have been doing so for some time. (Thank you LJ!  )
AB 199 doesn't address this issue, but if they're concerned about allowing this process to take place within the state by CA notaries, they should also be concerned about notarizations being handled for CA residents by notaries from outside the state. |
