I bought a printer on e-bay - paid a low price and it served me well; just be careful what you buy. I'm partial to HP - to me they're built a lot sturdier. Just starting out you can get some good deals on e-bay - I got a HP series 4300 dual tray printer in 2013 for $85 (included shipping) - it's still running.
