we were told that 60 people have to touch the documentation for buying a house, getting a loan, etc. 60 people have to do their job correctly and timely for things to run smoothly. One person screws up and can affect a lot of the process. I've learned this to be very true.
But then we have underwriters who are the bane of realtors! The last minute "going over with a fine toothed cone" stuff really drives us crazy as we often have a domino affect on house sales. If the first one gets held up, often many people are sitting with their stuff on semis to move and no one can close.
It frustrates me to wait on docs and it's ALWAYS the same bank for me that I am waiting on often for another week but I do know a little about the behind the scenes from 20 yrs of real estate. |
