"Naw, Liberals in the media would never let their own political views skew what they "report" on, would they?"
Probably not much more than the conservative media would let their own political views skew what THEY "report" on.
Such as Fox News recently reporting that food stamp abuse is at an all-time high, citing a Department of Agriculture report that doesn't exist. Their source? Breitbart.com, who made up the story, as they often do with the many of the stories they publish. No one at Fox bothered to verify that the report actually existed, or checked to see what it said - they just took it as gospel because it agreed with their opinions and ran with it.
Both liberal and conservative media will attempt to slant the truth to fit their agenda, and sometimes both will outright lie. Neither one is more reliable than the other unless your attitude is that you can only trust a source that confirms your own beliefs. If that's the case, you only want affirmation, not information.
Fox has since retracted its "report" on food stamp abuse, admitting it was wrong. Hopefully, they will start doing actual reporting and investigations, and stop relying on the likes of Breitbart and Drudge as reliable sources. |
