A lot. When the boys go on a business trip, Secret Service goes with them. If it's Trump's plane, the Secret Service pays the Trump Org for the seats. A trip to Mar-a-Lago? Secret Service has to pay for rooms and meals. A trip to the golf course? The Secret Service has paid $12K so far for use of golf carts on Trump's courses. Guess who owns the golf carts?

Because the GOP is in charge. Look at what Nunes is doing with the investigation into Russian influence in the campaign. He couldn't be more inept if he put his mind to it. GOP leadership has shown a reluctance to question anything that Trump does, and until they reverse that course, nothing will really be investigated.
House GOP spent millions on 7 separate investigations into Benghazi, and the chairman of that committee said he was prepared to continue it of Hillary won. A Navy Seal dies in an ill-conceived and badly botched raid in Yemen, Trump says it wasn't his fault (yeah it was - you're the CIC, the one who has to make the decisions), and the same committee chairman says he sees no reason at all to investigate what went wrong.
With that kind of mindset in Congress, how can you expect there to be an investigation into what are clear conflicts of interest? |
